I feel like for users who are just trying to check out sammi expecting them to use an external site is too indirect. There should be a feedback form inside of the app.

+1 on this. In addition, it'd be nice for some form of popup that requests feedback too even if it's only once. Feedback would be invaluable to figure out where points of issue for users lie. You could ask for feedback after the app has been opened a few times and in the message direct them to the location of the in app feedback button for future feedback
